Norcold 1200- deal killer?

OK. If we find a newer MH that we like, we'll get it without regard to the fridge. I really appreciate the answers from you who actually directly answered my question.

I always keep close attention how all things in our current MH are operating and quickly repair those that aren't functioning properly. Sounds like the Norcold 1200 will be no different.

Not a deal breaker for me.

I've had several RV's and every one of them had a Norcold, the two door 1200 in my current RV included. All worked very well for me.

The most important thing to look for when purchasing an RV is a layout you like, especially one that the wife likes.

Our 1200 died in Sept 2012 at 4 years old, which was a warranty replacement for the original 1200 (cracked case) @ 2 years by Norcold. Since the warranty had expired this time, We had Leon Hershberger @ National RV Refrigeration in Shipshewana, IN rebuild it for $950. Now it has a much better designed heavy duty cooling unit that keeps the freezer sub-zero. It is an in-house Amish rebuilt unit, all-though not the "Amish Cooling Unit" talked about often here. A great company doing great work with many happy customers.

We currently have a residential fridge and a coach having a Norcold would not be a deal breaker if I liked the unit and floorplan. We would also replace the Norcold immediately and just put that in the budget. I believe most of the folks that have made the switch to residential would not go back.

don't worry so much about a Norcold. I have had one for years. It runs all the time, yes I did have to have the cooling unit replaced once and the recall was done on the new unit. But it has always performed great. Not a deal breaker by any means....

If the coach has the floor plan you like and the proper recalls done your good to go! I just got a recall on my 2010 Toyota yesterday and I'll make an appointment to get it fixed! And yes, I would buy another Toyota in a heartbeat when it's time!

Personally, If I wanted the coach, I would buy it and never worry about the frig!
In fact, I did!
Come to think of it, I have no idea what frig is in our coach. It works, that is the important thing!

You do NOT need the serial number. ALL 1200 Norcolds have the recall. Just open up the back outside access door and look for the black recall box mounted on the bottom rear coil. If it has NOT been done, then it will be done at no cost to you. Doug
