1. I would get the Rev E version.
2. Norcolds DO NOT have an overheating problem
3. The current recall kit is the same kit OEM installed on current 1200/1210 models built by Norcold. The Recall kit is to STOP possible rupture or the Cooling unit and/or possible fire from a ruptured cooling unit. It is also installed to prevent rupture of the cooling unit in case of BLOCKED VENTILATION which WILL cause overheating.
4. The NORMAL operating temp of the system is 350 degrees. The recall kit trips at 700.
5. Water/Moisture will affect the recall box if it gets wet. Usually after someone is washing the RV and sprays a lot of water thru the outside refer door.
6. Older recall kits prior to Rev E are susceptible to low voltage trips which is one thing the Rev E fixes.
7. Anybody that charges over $100 to $125(1 hour labor) to check a 1200 and R&R the new recall kit with the Rev E is ripping you off. That is what we charge----.5 for the recall R&R and .5 to check the refer operation. ALL you do is verify no yellow around the back of the refer/ventilation OK, bypass for 12 to 24 hours to verify operation and if functioning to spec R&R the recall kit. Doug
