Norcold Fridge Questions

Howdy,
My Norcold N611 keeps blowing the 5 amp fuses. first the one in the converter panel then the one on the circuit board. Had been working great for many months. Fuse on board blows even when running on gas. The fuses do not blow immediately, but after several hours operation. Any suggestions?
Thanks to all replies

  • Glad you found the 'short'

Could have drained battery and damaged it vs blowing a 5A fuse

  • Problem Solved with your help.. It turns out I left the light wire off by accident when I was installing a little fan but never finished. My wife filled the fridge pushing the wire against the cooling fins intermittently, shorting out the circuit and blowing the fuse. Reconnected and all is well. Still want to install that fan eventually but it seems to blow as just as much air if powered with a 9 volt battery. May go that route instead of hard wire.
    Thanks again for the replies.
  • 5A auto blade fuses are for DC Power (the 5A glass fuse on board is for electric element)

You have a short on the DC Circuit(s)

One in converter provides protection for wiring TO fridge circuit board
One on fridge circuit board protects fridge controls (electric and propane) and propane gas valve circuit
  • Call Norcold, they have a customer service line, our 2000 and 2004 were both under a recall.
