And we wonder why some owner/operators of service facilities get grumpy and hard to deal with when someone brings their own parts and supplies. Come on people! These places are in business to perform a service. They are not non-profits. The day they all disappear we'll all be losers. If you want to use your own parts and supplies; then do it at home.

And you owner/operators that make a policy of gouging your customers, deserve to go broke.

I carry spare filters in my coach and when I get my filters changed, I want them to use my spare filters. I will always purchase the new filters from them and carry them as spares, but I want them to use my one year old filters and rotate them out. What's wrong with that?

I don't want to be argumentative but can you explain why you would want to use one year old oil filters vs. new, or at least newer than what you are carrying?

Baldwin makes some pretty good filters. I believe they still have the lowest micron fuel filter on the market for a 5.9L Cummins..

I heard too many horror stories about oil changes done in drive-by stations to let anybody put his hands on my engine.
Sure draining 28 or more qt is not easy. I tried it once with 20qt pan and it was a mess.
But today you can buy oil extractors, like Mityvac and suck the oil in smaller amounts without going under the vehicle.
Than you can install Fumoto (?) valve that will allow drain oil straight into containers (my garbage co delivers recycling containers who are converted milk jugs)

My oil change service was for 28Qts of oil,1 oil filter + 2 fuel filters + lube, check coolant SCA's, check differential oil...about $235.

That was my invoice.....oil/ filters/ lube.
They did 'look' at my webasto. It was/ is smoking.

They didn't fix it, just looked. I didn't have time to wait for parts for the fix.

I'm just letting everyone know that all that glitters ain't gold. Ask about prices and your cost BEFORE having the work done.

All Prevost drivers ain't named Trump........some of us are on a retirement budget and normally do shop around.
(I was pulled in by the hype and made my very first mistake..:R)

I'm checking out a local CIT trucking company....rated ok by Prevost. Needing shocks and airbags to start.

Done that. Caught a shark, took some of the fresh meat to a restaurant and had them use it for a meal. Not uncommon.

I do my own oil changes and lub, I save over $125. Is easier than gas V-10's, have to do 1/4 as often, but 4x amount of oil.
