Oil changes

Hi. anybody hear of the EZ oil drain value w/ hose attacnment. You replace your drain plug with the EZ drain. It makes easy to control oil flow and direct the hose ( clear plastic tubing sold seperatly) into jugs or drain pan. Hope this helps

I noticed in Yuma (what you show as your home base) there are numerous RV service centers. Why not just choose one of them?

I change my four wheel vehicle's oil myself, but as noted above, I don't want to have to get rid if 10 1/2 gallons of MH oil, so I found a mom and pop diesel shop. They change the oil and filter and lube the chassis for an hour's labor...$75...just went up from $65. I furnish the oil and filter, they use the oil to fuel their shop furnace. It's a win win.

I use an old Rubbermade storage container that will fit under the oil pan with the coach up on my homemade 2X12 ramps. I line it with two HD black trash bags. Have yet to get the container oily.

Use an old coffee can and funnel to pour used oil back into the gallon jugs which go back in the cardboard box they came in.

Lots of places recycle oil. Very likely your city's vehicle maintenance department has no problem accepting any volume you choose to drop off.

Auto store. Large container and transfer to empty 1 gal container.

Let me see if I can stand under what your saying; You got to a shop for service, (nothing said about appointment?) was told you would need to wait your turn, but did not. Then when shop finished with the people that waited they called to let you know, and you think the service is bad enough to go elsewhere?

When you buy the oil, ask to carry home in a couple of cases. Take bottles out, line them with trash bags. Put 1 box on a sheet of cardboard under drain plug. Drain until box is 3/4 full, put plug back in. Catch oil that comes out while changing filter in 2nd box, then put it under plug, finish draining. The cardboard under boxes make it EZ to slide them out. Using paper filter and cup, transfer the used oil into the bottles, put bottles back in box, (with trash bag still in place) and take to recyclers.

IMHO, getting rid of 45 quarts of oil isn't worth the hassle of doing it myself. Draining it one gallon at a time isn't either. I use the SpeedCo in Eloy and have been doing so for the past 15 years. They get you in and out without hassle. Might have to wait for one or two semis but that's it. This simply could have been an off day for this facility.....Dennis
