Onan 5500 Starts then stops after releasing button

I have a 4k Onan. I had the same issue. Hit the starter, it fired right up and ran beautifully till I let off of the switch. I tested the fuel pump, worked fine. I replaced the control board and now it runs perfect. It was a pricy gamble that paid off.
