Onan LP generator regulator recall?

In our coach, we have a 7 KW generator producing 6.5 KW on propane.
I had the starter and LP regulator replaced last year. Now, with almost NO additional time in the unit, the motor will start briefly but will not continue running.
I'm going to the Onan repair shop in the morning, but a neighbor mentioned that he had heard of a recall on these regulators.
That would be nice, since I think that's the problem once more, and I'd hate to be forced to pay for another one if I can avoid it.
Does anyone know of this?

  • Longest period without a short run was about two months.

  • Have you been keeping it 'exercised'? Lots of things can cause them to die after letting off the starter.
  • Our rig runs on the vapor, not the liquid.
They tagged me for about $600 when they replaced the starter and regulator last year.

  • I have a 2004 coach with a 6.5kw propane Onan. A couple years ago I had issues with it starting and running, it smelled like it was running rich when it ran. I had it in the shop and they cleaned up the carb which was gummed up and a replaced a hose or did a couple of other things. About $1200 total! When I got it back I started doing little research and found that if the propane is fed from the liquid side, which mine was, it tends to gum things up. I swapped mine over to the vapor side with the appliances and haven't had anymore trouble. Might be worth a try!!

FWIW, I have no knowledge of any recall.
