Oregon Motor Coach - Matt Carr

Sharing this info on other forums too, as I see it as a positive development for OMC, as well as the repair industry in general.

Matt Carr and his wife Elaine(SP?), a current member of the OMC team, will be the new owners of OMC effective in January. Matt is well known via Carr Industries, and many of you know he was at CC as the General Manager of the Cabinet Production Shop for many years.

Matt being well known from working at CC with many of the OMC crew, and his hands on involvement. (Another couple with a CC was having some tile work, and were pleased that Matt got involved so much that he was down on his knees helping with with the tech, for a few hours.) These are positives.

Jim Cooley, Brenda, and the other great techs should find this change in ownership to be a positive. And I personally see nothing but positives out of this shuffle.

Bob and Terry Lee have created a great culture at OMC, and it shows in their day to day dealings with the return customers that come year after year. I wish them all the best, and give them my sincere thanks. Wish I had had the chance to meet them.

Having a place that can do what OMC does, and when mistakes happen - care enough to resolve them - is nothing but good for coach owners. And, it helps raise the bar for other repair companies to remain competitive.

Best to all,
Smitty

  • Isn't OMC on Airport Road in Eugene? I live in the San Francisco Bay Area but have taken my coach to OMC three times on the past few years for updates and service. They installed a residential refrigerator, resolved a slide problem that the Monaco factory couldn't when they were in business, upgraded the front air, replaced a damaged awning, removed the propane and installed an induction range, did an annual service and various other repairs and mods. Always very professional, friendly folks, with the work completed on time and with the cost in line with what you would expect from a first class shop. I feel comfortable taking the coach there and will return when the coach needs service in the future.

Where are they located? Junction City?

Yes Ron - They're in Junction City, thus the ability of Bob Lee to recruit the creme of the crop from the former Country Coach employees.

Many outstanding shops in this area, as their once was a company named Monaco, and Beaver under Safari ownership too, in this region too. Quite a pool of skilled craftsman.

    Best to all,
