We picked up a 2016 2250 slec 3 weeks ago and just returned from our maiden voyage.Dinette will be gone in spring.4" foam topper on bed really helped. Happy w/ the Chevy ,more leg room up front.

So jealous am I... I have my 3050DS on order since July and it was delayed by the Ford E450 problem. Should be in any day now and I'm looking forward to it.

You are lucky you got your Chevy made before the Chevy factory changed over to making another line of vehicles. They won't be back to making the Chevy cut-away chassis until next spring.

For those that don't follow the Ford/Chevy choice in Class C's, Ford's E450 for 2016 will have a new 6 speed transmission. Forest River made the decision to use the E450 for their entire line of Ford based Class C's. When the chassis is cut and extended for making a motorhome, the drive shaft's angle out of the transmission is therefore changed. This resulted in a vibration at 60 mph, where the old 5 speed was okay. Forest River shut down their production lines while Ford and Forest River engineers looked for a solution to the problem.

The problem has been solved, production lines at Forest River are back running. But, any coach (read... MY coach) in production was delayed several weeks.

Fortunately for us, we found this one in a local dealer's inventory so didn't have to order it. Had we ordered one, it would have been $15K+ more.... this one had a sweet sale price.

If we had ordered one, it would have the full bunk up front rather than the split bunk/TV in the center. However, this setup is very workable for us. We have a 5'4 friend that will try the new bunks, else we'll set him up in the dinette bed. That may be easier for him anyway, as he is in his mid-60s.

Just curious: What is that thing in the floorplan that looks like an old reel-to-reel tape deck in the cabover area?

A friend asked the same question. In the case where the overhead has an open 60x80 bunk, there's a storage box on the drivers side. Apparently those are cup holders and an open catch box. Apparently...

That would be old-school cool - a reel to reel! I have one in my garage; maybe I could adapt it to the new Sunseeker to be the hit of the party! B^)

You ever drop one of the reels with the tape on it and it roll away..... what a nightmare.

Hmmm...I guess I lack imagination, as I've never once thought that I should have a cupholder for my cabover bunk. (There is a storage box in roughly the same place, and it's kind of handy for jammies or whatever.) Seems to me like an awful lot of work to climb up with one's cup of coffee just to be able to not quite sit upright to enjoy it.

I guess one could put a TV on the opposite wall and have a sort of mini home theater loft. The tub of popcorn goes in the open compartment, and the drinks in the cupholders.

Anyway, hope you have lots of happy travels and make many great memories.
