Outside tv addition

I'm interested in adding a larger outside tv under the windows on my right living room slide. This would be like the newer units that are out now. I called Winnebago and they quoted me $10k. Dw asked if that included the tv, which made me laugh! I told her I hadn't thought to ask.

Anyway does anyone know a company that does stuff like that, or had it done?

Thanks all.

I always wonder why having the tv in the compartment is so important. A 32 inch tv is a nice size and an led is very lightweight. If you have the outlets you can then set it anyplace outside to accommodate your needs which may include sun angle. I use a wireless transmitter and receiver which makes it even easier. Certainly will save you a lot of money. In my case I use a 22 inch led and place it close enough to me to use headphones so I don't disturb the neighbors.

What kind of wireless transmitter are you using? Is it HD capable?

To the OP, I was going to suggest this same thing. Yeah it's not as clean as a built in one, but the new LED TV's are really light and easy to move around. I'm going to get one in the 32 inch range and build a wood box with foam to store it in and just keep it in a compartment. With the wireless transmitted idea, all you need is an extension cord and you can put the TV anyplace in your campsite that you want it. On the side of the motorhome may not always be the most ideal location depending on what your camp site looks like.

In looking at units like yours, it looks like you have a large basement slide tray, but there is not much height to the storage area. I could only put a 19" on mine until I figured out how to mount a 32" and now a 40" here.
  • I don't quite understand your situation.
Do you already have a TV built into the side of your MH and just want a larger one?

Bret Michaels could probably mount an 80 incher out there for you.

    LOL Too Funny
  • I don't know of anyone! Dave a CG Host at River Island S.P. AZ. put one in the forward compartment of his 2004 Winnebago Adventurer. The big screen LCD TV was bolted into the floor! He had eyelet screws with wire holding the TV from 2 places on the top and 2 places on the sides. He wired it and installed a electrical outlet before putting the TV Set in. He ran all the TV cables and electric down via the frame rails. I would think that I could hire a carpenter and electrician for a 1/4 of cost of Winnebago JMHO!
