Thanks for the reply I have an aluminum roof that over the years looks to have a rubber coating not sure if that's factory or not. Some areas are cracked and chipped exposing aluminum. My intent is to seal these areas with a sealant I bought at canadian tire meant for aluminum and other rv roofs such as rubber which comes in a quart. I would be sealing around the vents but as you mentioned will not seal around the air conditioner. I will however inspect around the air conditioner. This is purely preventative maintenance as I have not seen any wet areas or water stains on the celing. I pushed up or hit with my fist most of the interior walls and celing areas and everything is solid. For The sikaflex they claim rubber paint is fine...I did find a special paint at home depot which is acrylic latex which will work with plastics and metals and is meant to seal aswell and withstand rain up to 90 MPH. Also had I known about proflex clear rv sealant I would have out that instead as it probably would have looked better than the bronze sikaflex I used...too late though now I have to paint.
