Panel Bubbling - Has Anyone Seen Anything Similar?

Recently my 2010 Itasca Impulse Class C began to show a strange looking "bubbling" effect on the interior panel for the over-cab bunk. I've attached a picture.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any guesses as to possible causes?

The bubbles are as hard as the rest of the wood; if you press down there is no give. There are no other signs of anything similar in the coach anywhere.

I'm going in for service soon to have it checked out, but would love to have some idea before that.

    I wonder if it's just glue that was pushed or gassed out of the wood underneath as it was drying. Since they're hard I wouldn't worry about it too much.

    Hi Scott,

    The bubbles are very hard and don't move at all if I press down hard. That's why I am puzzled, as I expected the bubbles to be hollow as if maybe the vinyl covering was separating from the wood. But that isn't the case.

    I haven't tried poking a bubble with a pin - interesting idea.

    Do they move if you poke at them? How about if you poke one with a pin?

    Nothing generating heat nearby. I also don't see any signs of a water leak, although I know from experience water can take some crazy paths behind and through different materials. However, I would expect some sponginess to the area if it was getting water intrusion.

    Is there any source of heat near it? My first thoughts are heat or water damage

    Looks just like I had in my Coahhmen Santerra a few springs ago.It was caused by a water leak where my roof met the front cap. It's almost surely caused by water intrusion.

    The picture is shown correctly - this white panel is the horizontal platform where the bunk mattress sets. The platform is some kind of wood covered with white vinyl. There is a window to the left of this area. This area where it is bubbling in the picture is about 1 foot square, but since I first noticed it about 2 months ago it was a much smaller area.

    Is that a ceiling picture upside down? I am thinking the wood grain is the wall? Where is it relative to the other edges? Near a window, dead center front?

    How big an area is in the picture.. 8 inches by 4 inches.. or?
