Patio Mate vs Carefree of Colorado patio rooms.

I have a 35 foot 1999 chieftain with the A&E(dometic)8500 awning. I'd like to get either the Patio Mate by Dometic, or the Standard add-a-room by Carefree. I'm also considering the breezeway screen room by Carefree. I don't know which one is better. They seem to be about the same price, so I'd just rather get the best one. The screen room looks attractive because it doesn't have so much material to roll-up later. But will it hold up? Also, I don't understand how the floor works, is there a floor? Best place to buy these items online? Any must-have options in your opinion? Any info would be great, the online info I have found has answered a lot of questions but left a lot to my hopeful imagination. Where am I gonna put it when I'm not using it!! thanks.
  • I can only vouch for the Patio-Room by Carefree. We had one for our Dynasty. You will have to add twist locks to the side of your rig, not a biggie, and it attaches there. The top attaches to the awning arms and two poles that lock it all together. There is no floor. The solid sides roll up so you have a screen room and down for privacy at night. When traveling with the kids, they like to sleep "outdoors" yet still close in. You can put a fan or a heater out there depending on the outside temps. We used the regular 9X12 or 10X14 mat for the floor. It takes about 15 minutes to set it all up and it comes in it's own travel bag. IMHO, it is a great addition to any coach. I would have one for our current coach but the awning is not conducive to it's attachment...I had ours for 5 years, used it often and it was still like new when we got rid of the Dynasty.....Dennis
