I like it - but as you say its considerably more than 400 a month....and NOT in a major metro area either.

IMO your MIL has it better than most ;)

I don't know what kinda Coach some of you guys have, but protecting a 150k investment is worth it to me (and plenty others) - hell theres a WAITING list at the lot I'm in.....so clearly I'm not the only one willing to preserve my investment !

I wanna see someone buy a lot, pour concrete pad & driveway, build a FULLY enclosed 20x50 garage (14' rollup door), add 30 or 50 amp utility, PLUS some 15 amp miscellaneous outlets, lighting, a septic system, water & pay the annual taxes for less than 300 or 400 a month.

I pay $255 plus tax for covered parking that is 12.5 x 45(not inclosed, like a car port). It has un-metered electric and is in a gated lot. There is a dump station and an area to wash your RV. Tons of cameras everywhere and they do onsite pest control. This is in west central Florida just south of Tampa. Most open storage lots around here charge $75-$100 a month just to park outside with no cover or electric. I hate paying that much a month but I can't store at my house. At least it is safe and my 4 year old trailer looks brand new since it is out of the elements 99% of the time.

I could not even find that where I am If you could it would be $400 a mo

When you find that lot with a nice barn that would fit your RV, jump on it.

Think about property taxes, electric, water, sewer, upkeep, security, termite control, bug control..... those costs add up. How far out in the country will you go?

In California, you are not going to find anything less that $500K-$750K for a lot and then you will want the right structure to park the RV.

I wish it was that easy to just go find acreage and park your RV.

Major storage lots here are getting $70 to $80 for open air parking but fenced and with security. I think for $250 to $450 @ month I'd look for a couple of acres with a barn or shed on it.

BTW, I checked this thread looking for creative ideas on stoarage. My subdivision doesn't allow RV parking nor do I have the room. Been check around for homeowners with extra space to rent but wondered if anayone has other ideas.

$400+ with a year lease-----I wouldn't have anyone using my place for less money because its just not worth it----someone mentioned Baltimore---I rent outdoor storage there right on aviation blvd at the airport for $150 an month--secure, outside, and no hook ups. Inside with all that has got to be worth $400.
