My local paper had an article on Pearl Harbor, but from a Japanese perspective. To us of course it was a tragic day and significant in that it got us into "The War". But from the Japanese people's point of view it was just another battle as they had been at war for a number of years on many fronts. Little did the common Japanese they awoke a sleeping giant that would eventually kick their collective butts.
I've visited Pearl Harbor on several occasions and am amazed at that after 73 years there is still oil bubbling up from the Arizona, and that a bit of mist seeps into my eye's from somewhere.
