Yes it can be done, but as mentioned above, find a lot with trees. We've been there, done that for three very years in the Tolleson and Avondale, AZ area for three years in our '87 Toyota Dolphin with only one truck topper A/C for three years. I'd returned from an oversees tour, did not want to sell the house here in Vegas, so the only option was the Dolphin. I sealed off the drivers compartment with an insulated panel/door, cut the foil insulation for all the windows including the front window as I used it as a closet for both regular clothing and uniforms.
