Pick the real Winnebago, a bizarre story

The name Winnebago has become even more generic that's you can possibly imagine.
AVIDA now builds the Winnebago Premium on an IVECO Chassis

US Winnebago has got Talvor to import Minnie Winnies and produce a local "Winnebago" in this case the Winnebago Balmoral All other Australian Winnebago's are Class C's

Trademarks are not harmonized globally, despite the existence of more than a dozen international organizations, multilateral trading treatings, and intellectual property pacts that attempt to do so. Scope is essentially local, and if you want to operate globally you might have to register a trademark everywhere it is used.

Someone else owns the Winnebago name and logos in Australia, because they have registered the properties there. If the U.S. Winnebago Corporation does business in that market, they are likely licensing the use of the name from the Australian trademark owner.

Not quite,as it was found out that the "Winnebago" in Australia was not associated with Winnebago US. A court action occurred instigated by US Winnebago, they initially won the case, but the decision was overturned in appeal, when it was discovered that US Winnebago, had allowed the local "Winnebago " to trade in Australia and NZ, after an agreement was reached . After roughly now 50yrs they have not tried to sell
US sourced Motorhomes , although NOW anyone can bring in Winnebago Motorhomes from the US to sell. Confusing indeed

    Which came first?

The impostor is probably the one that came second.

I believe I know the answer to the question. Here's more proof:

Actually not the end of the story on an appeal to the decision, AVIDA.won the right to use Winnebago as long it said it was NOT the US Winnebago.
So you get this Maker of Australian Winnebagos

Which makes the "Australian Winnebago's" made by Talvor in a odd position, because they cannot say they are Australian Winnebago's, although they have nothing to do with
US models but are affiliated with US Winnebago!
Now as a result of the court decision companies not associated with Winnebago US can import US Winnebago's:?

No the imposter came first, US Winnebago has never been in Australia, just like Jayco.
They are getting Apollo Rentals that owns Talvor to produce "Winnebago's " Apollo has a substantial Motorhome rental business in the US. To totally confuse you I could bring in Jayco, but that would be too hard to fathom

Correct and "The Australian Winnebagos" are not US Winnebagos, contrary to the publicity about importing Winnebago's into Australia
  • Not to be outdone a Company that imports Tiffin Motorhomes into Australia is also
    Importing the Winnebago Via
    Confused?
