Place to stop in Ridgecrest, CA

There's a nice big city park there. I'd try that.

From our experience there are not many places to stay around that area. We spent a weekend here when visiting friends. The accommodations were adequate and we spent most of our time away from the RV. Sorry I do not remember pricing but the owners were very nice and even helped us get backed in and taken care of.

Assuming you want to camp for free, you could continue on towards Trona and use any of the BLM land. If you go all the way through Trona, you can pull off at Valley Wells...about 4 miles out of town towards Death Valley. Remember to get fuel in Ridgecrest. All fuel in Death Valley is expensive.

x2. If you're looking to boondock in that area there are miles and miles and miles of desert and plenty of places to pull over and spend the night. Just don't pull out into the Navy bombing range. It could get noisy there if the military is out playing.

I boondock off of trona road/serales(sp?) station rd all the time, there is lots of free camping BLM land and a big OHV area....look up wagon wheel and spangler hills.

Why does everyone believe everyone who ask where to park they want it for free? This forum gives only one place that is miles away at Red Rock Canyon. I would have passed through it before getting to Ridgecrest. My new DeLorme 2014 Street Atlas shows one place miles 10 miles out of the away. I did find a Elks Lodge in town that offers low cost parking with hook-ups. Thanks for the advice about Trona. I wanted to stop there and have breakfast at one the the restaurants there. I went through there on my Bike years ago and wanted to go back.
