Popping, Creaking Leveling Jacks

I know this topic has been discussed before and the fluid additive fix did little or nothing for our issue. My question is that it appears to be a temperature issue, it seems to be worse when their is a pretty good change in temperature like us going from warm afternoons to cool Arizona desert nights. Has anyone else noticed this? If not, please let us know if the same thing is occurring with you.
  • I have one jack that settles a little
    But they don't make noise
What makes noise is the suspension
Metal creaks and pops as it cools and moves
  • Changed the oil to Synthetic (It took 8 quarts)and I added to all four jack legs
Two layers of 2x12 by 12 inch squares. So far it is working to correct the problem.
  • Our new 2013 Tour starting popping sound once we arrived in AZ.I tried releveling every 5 days which helps for 4 days .Then I tried adding blocks but that did not help .I'm changing to Mobil 1 ATF as soon as I can find a store that has 10 quarts .Hoping that works . If not we are still under warrantee and I'll look to replace the two rear jacks.

We dump the air every time, the tech at Lippert also used the phrase "the nature of the beast" when I called them...interesting. It is very annoying, but it does not pop in warm weather.

  • I have decided this is the nature of the beast and ignore it. My wife still jumps like she has been shot every time.
  • We tried removing fluid and adding "anti-stiction" fluid per the manufacturer...nothing. Only thing that works for us is using blocks to minimize the extension of the jacks. Result is no more popping.
  • If you use dextron trans fluid for yours replace it with merconV synthetic trans fluid. that's what Power Gear told me to do and it solved my problem.
