Potential Thor Palazzo Purchase

We are thinking about purchasing a new leftover 2015 Palazzo. We are asking any forum users to provide any advice they have for new RVers or advice for new Palazzo owners.

We are thinking about purchasing the Palazzo from Camping World. If you have any advice to offer regarding Camping World Sales and Service, we would appreciate from hearing from you.

Thanks in advance for your help.
  • There is a lot of commending of CW on that forum the link is too. It's not the policy of the company to have these things happen, but the integrity of the people running the branches and the employees. I'm not affiliated with CW, but feel the commending the whole organization is wrong.
  • Here some good reading. 431 postings, some good some not so good.

  • They are nice looking rigs. There were a couple threads on here about 1 year ago sharing pics and stories that may make you second guess the model/ brand (or at least buy the extended extended extra bonus warranty)
  • The purchase from Camping World should be fine, but I never had much luck with their service department. My experience with their service - Once my rig waited for two weeks waiting on service. When I called to check on it, they had lost the paperwork and did not even know they had it on their lot. They destroyed an entire door replacing the lock. My motorhome automobile insurance had to pay for the new door. They rigged some heat shield apparatus for a bad generator that they never figured out was bad. The heat shield, they had jerry rigged, almost came apart while driving down the road. If I had not stopped and discovered it, it would have taken out my rear left tire and skirting. Their service may have improved in the last two years, but I refuse to take it to a Camping World service department ever again.
  • Camper World is just like any other RV dealer. Some folks are happy with them and then there are some that are never satisfied with any dealer.

I will say though that their was a thread on this forum about a person that bought a Palazzo and he had lots of problems with the slides and a long list of other problems. But the slides is what really caught my eyes.

Motor homes is like anything mechanical. You can get a real good coach and then you can get one that will be a nightmare to own. Some luck is needed with any coach.
  • We too love the looks of the Palazzo, and are thinking about a purchase at some point. It seems that I remember a problem with the two rail slide system not being strong enough on one of the recent model year Palazzo's, but am unsure if it is 2015. It sounds like they have corrected this issue in 2016.
