Getting ready to pour a pad for the rv. I'm thinking 12 inch deep with 6 inch of some sort of gravel(3/4 trap rock or 3/4 process)then 6inches of 4000 psi concrete with wire mesh. The rv GVW is 35,700 and GCWR is 43,700. The way my land slopes were the pad will be the front will be just above grade and the rear will be 12 inches ontop of grade. Any and all comments welcome.

Why go thru the expense of a concrete pad. Just put down the gravel (3/4 inch is fine) and go for it. When the pad gets a little out of level some modest raking will bring it back to level.

I did the 6"+, 4000 psi with fiber & heavy wire on stand offs, for my 40'X 60' for the RV garage 11 yrs ago, still the happy kid, no hair line cracks.Only problem, not large enough.Dave M

6" is a lot of concrete. Gonna cost you a fortune. Go 4" with mesh.Spend the time to prep the base properly. remove all organic, make sure you have good drainage. 12" of well compacted granular base and it will last forever.

You have the right ideal. 6 inches would be the least amount depth. 4" will crack over time with a 6600 truck. Pay now or really pay later. A good base is the key. Remember to let cure for over 30+ days.

I agree, go with 6" and make sure you got a well compacted solid base

With that kind of weight I would stick with 6".

I have a 4" concrete pad for my 18,000 lb. Mobile Suite. No problems.

I have a 4" pad in front of my shop. Numerous cracks with 24,000 pound MH. Just poured 6" for MH garage.
