Like to get a little feedback here. Ordering a new Class C on Ford E350 chassis. Was told power locks were standard- but there would an extra charge if I wanted key FOB(S). What have some of you experienced with this situation ??

Power locks are pretty much standard equipment on every vehicle these days. But "remote" or "keyless entry" is an option that requires a receiver in the vehicle to pick up signal from the transmitter or fob to activate the locks. This is probably what your dealer meant.

08/22/13 on the class C forum “Keyless Entry” subject came up. I had wondered my 2006 Winnie class C didn’t have keyless remotes so after reading I ordered two. I received my two keyless remotes from Discount Keyless in Oakhurst NJ that I ordered thru Amazon for my E-350. Cost me $11.12 total including shipping. Programmed them, they work great on the cab doors and include the dreaded panic alarm. It does not lock or unlock my coach door, I may check into seeing if it can do that in the future. My 2006 24VR Chalet is basically a 2005 Minnie 24V and coach door electronic lock was not a feature on the 05 Minnie. I'm a happy camper. Regards, Dick

I think new Winnebago & Itasca's come standard with the keyfob since on some models it also works on the compartment and coach entry door. Check www.winnebagoind.com and look at the brochures on models you might be interested in. Dick

Our 05 Winnebago Aspect came with key fobs. They operated the cab doors and the coach door. It was a great feature. Much more cumbersome to have to use a key to lock and unlock current coach. If it was an option, I would opt for it.

Power Door Locks ...... Key FOB normally an extra ?

Here's a remote keyless entry system for an E450 which can be added for not much money. It would work as long as you have power door locks. I have no idea of the quality of the unit, but it's cheap. :B

Switch ignition from OFF to ON 8 times within 10 seconds (On the 8th time leave key in the ON position in the ignition):
Doors should lock then unlock.

I did all that. The door locks didn't move. I have tried several times, closely following the instructions in the manual. No Joy.

The fobs may be an option, if it has electric door locks it will accept fobs. Dick

So what good are power locks if you don't have remotes to lock and unlock them ? Still lost on this one !

OK- things coming into view now. Guess 1/2 pie is better than no pie at all. Just got of the phone with FORD - they confirmed the FOBS (and I presume a transmitter mounted in the vehicle) are an option on the E-350 Cutaway Chassis.

When getting in or out of the driver's (or passenger) door. You press the switch on either door to lock or unlock both doors. :h
It sure beats having to reach across the cab to lock or unlock the other door.

If 3 or 4 repeat
Switch ignition OFF:
Doors should lock then unlock.
NOTE: A maximum of 4 remote transmitters can be programmed.

Our 06 Winnie c-class came with two remotes. They operate the cab doors and the coach entry door.
Bobbo have you tried reprograming your remotes actually the vehicle. The instructions for programming up to 4 remotes are given in the FORD owners manual.

wbwood, Brian if you purchased it new I think they owe you another fob. Good looking MH, does your coach door also lock & unlock with you cab doors. Dick
