I'm looking at purchasing a Newmar Kountry Star and it has a power Teck Diesel Generator in it.. Not sure what that is or who builds it. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Is this a decent g...

They are built in manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, China, India and a joint venture with Ishikawajima-Shibaura-Machinery company in Japan. Powertech started out in the Marine Yacht business. Still does Marine. They crossed over to RV's about 15 years ago. They made 2 versions depending on how old. The originals did NOT have the optional sound deadening kits installed and were a little louder. Then some RV OEM's started optioning the sound kits. I believe most built in the past 10 years have the sound kit insulation standard now. They are very good units. They take the Diesel engines and then build the Genset around it. Doug
