I had one once (in a '99 pace arrow) that the pump gears had worn a depression in the housing.
It made all the right noises and all the jacks went to the ground without a problem, but there was no power there, no pressure, once the load came up, the oils just ran around the excessive clearance inside the pump.
I found a new replacement unit on ebay for a fraction of powergear's cost.
