Preventative hail damage

Dang, we are in the path of some pretty scary weather here in Texas. Some pretty big hail is possible, probably with wind as well. What suggestions do y'all have for preventing damage to plastic vent covers? And more importantly skylight in the shower. Our rig is a 2001, guessing those items are pretty dang brittle.
