Preventive Maintenance Proves its Worth

It was time to do the bi-annual brake maintenance on the ol 95 Bounder F53. Which includes cleaning and re-lubing the caliper mounting system and brake fluid flush.
The calipers were still floating on their mounts and the caliper pistons were free to move in their bores.
The pad in the picture was installed on the LR at 85,000 miles and removed at 132,000 miles.
I do admit to a lot of driving in the Rocky Mountains.
All other pads were in good shape.

  • Pennsylvania has an annual state inspection requirement so no need for us that live in PA to worry.
  • Glad you checked that!

Just out of curiosity---why would the one brake pad be so much more worn than the others? Is that something to be concerned about?
  • It would appear that you didn't have one more descent from the mountaintop in that one, my friend. Good catch, but please do not attempt to duplicate the feat, 'k?
