Protecting the Paint

I just had the film removed from our MH because it looked absolutely awful. It has to be done either by a pro or very carefully. I'm going with a good clear coat this time. Never had a bra, but would worry about it rubbing the paint off.

#1, that way chips are very easy to repair. I would never have the film again.

We removed the 3m product ( took two days )and purchased a bra.

I just let it go - which happens to EVERYTHING. I let it age. Small chip here and there, oh well, that's what touch up paint is for, or just simple "fun" looking it as a badge of all my adventures.

Not sure about a MH, but I have had the bras in several cars. I stopped using them. If not removed and cleaned on a regular basis, road dirt gets under the bra and scratches the paint. Someone mentioned rejex. Great product.

We have a bra which requires taking it off when it rains or at destination and cleaning front and back. Front wipes off pretty easy. It is not a lot of trouble until you get a bad back etc.
I'm going to try the new spray on mask from 3M. Don't remember the name but discovered it existed here.
I've been waiting for someone to tell us how good it is and how easy it is to apply and take off, especially around edges of two panels.

Hi Rick, I use Nu Finish Wax just on the front of my coach and I apply 3 coats. Did the same with my semi before I retired. If I owned a DP with full body paint I would go with a bra even though I don't like the looks of a bra. Seems to me a bra would do the trick to stop those nasty rock dings. Then I would take it off when at home to enjoy the paint job.

I have watched a YouTube video about removing the film. In it, a heat gun was used to soften the adhesive. I am wondering if a hair dryer would do the job?

I'll be watching for answers too. I have the 3M film on the CC we just got and I would love to remove it before it starts to really look bad. I would never have this stuff and would rather keep the front polished and do touch up when necessary.
