protocal at fuel stops
What is the proper procedure when filling with diesel fuel at a truck stop (Love's of Flying J)?

Sometimes we find Diesel where we pull in, fill and go inside and pay.
Other times and most of the time, there is some reason or another, wife goes in with payment or card and I wait until pump activated and fill. She finishes the transaction and comes out and we leave.
We use two handheld radios so she won't have to come back out until finishing transaction and I radio in. Most of the time there is too much noise and distance sometimes to do otherwise.
