I also turn off my ENGINE batteries when camped or stored - just to avoid the an potential parasitic draw (aka clocks etc).

learned long ago (around here too) that its not safe to assume anything.
while i agree - some have a preference for running their fridge on propane (could be a way of reducing the load on a marginal shore power 120vac supply circuit.
when curbside at my father-in-laws i run my water heater on propane because i can not run an air conditioner, fridge & water heater on his 20a shore circuit - sometimes if my 120vac load is "close" to the limit i'll run the fridge in propane/12vdc mode to avoid the consumption of the 3+ amps that the fridge can consume (on 120vac).
