Question about Holliday Rambler

Anyone know, when was the last year for an aluminum roof on the class a Holliday Rambler rvs, gas or DP.
Thanks, Neil
  • My Diplomat was a 2005 and was the last year the Diplomat had an aluminum roof.

Monaco still has a website with brochure archives. They'll describe what years other levels of Monaco coaches changed to fiberglass.
  • I think for several of the Monaco brands, 2003 was the last year for aluminum sidewalls and 2005 was the last year for the aluminum roof.
  • Thanks all.
Once you've had an aluminum roof class a, its hard to think you might have to go to something else, so I'll stick to the last years they were produced when we replace the coach we have.

if aluminum is better why don't they still use it?

Fine question? Ours is fiberglass, seems to work fine. I'd think allumin would be kinda easy to dent.

Aluminum costs more plus it requires a few extra manufacturing steps to form the aluminum. The advantages is that it is not going to crack like fiberglass can after long term exposure to the elements. You also don't have to worry about cracks when walking on the roof, no matter how heavy you are since Monaco used a very thick aluminum.
