Questions About Class A 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bay 35TSB

My wife and I have just started looking at buy a call A RV. We are going to go look at a used 1 owner 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bay 35TSB with 32,000 miles. It would be a private party purchase from the original owner.

Has anyone had any experience with this model? On a used motor home how do I determine if the price they are asking is acceptable? Where can I go to see what the estimated value is? They are asking $81,900.

Any suggestion or thoughts on valuing this type of motor home would be appreciated. Are there any known problems with this model?

  • Seems a tad high for a gasser. The opposing slides in the living area are a must for us. What's the cargo capacity for the bays under the slides? Have a friend who has a 07 dp and they have been very pleased. They have said many times that their tech support is awesome even though it's an older coach.
  • Welcome to the forum. On any RV, check the age of the tires. RV tires usually age out before they wear out. Check the date code on the side of the tires, including the spare, if it has one.

Don't be in a hurry to buy. Take your time and do your homework, find a floor plan that works for you.

If you don't feel comfortable inspecting the unit, hire a mobile RV tech to do an inspection when you find one you are serious about buying.

Decide how you will use the RV. If you will be traveling a lot the diesel may be a good choice. If you will be parked for long periods a gas unit may be a good choice.

Will you be pulling a toad?

And, ask questions on the forum, someone will have an answer.

    Enjoy your search.
  • We plan on spending from $60,000 to $90,000 on a class A. We are not sure if we will go with new or used. After we look at this used one we are going to look at a new Fleetwood Flair.

  • That seems real high, but need more specs.
Is it the FRED (Front engine diesel) or a gasser?
Is it the Ford or Workhorse.
We recently purchased a 2008 AB 38 tgb gas work horse with under 30K miles for a lot less and love it. It was slightly customized by the prior owner, who removed the love seat, but we had 2 recliners from or prior 5th wheel to put in it's place. I also got all new tires in the deal, which came in around $2800, and new slide toppers (3).
Like new, what ever KBB shows, offer 30% less. Be prepared to get a blank look, but then go prepared with comps for sale from RVTrader.com.
While at this year's Hershey Show, we saw a brand new Tiffin 34 SA (I believe) with the Ford F53, in the high range of $120K.

    X2

HERE is what a new one would cost.

  • Since you are going to meet the owner, ask him about the following areas and see if they have been repaired: Roof rails, wet bay, driver's side front slide floor. These are a series of problems across all Tiffin models from 2007 - 2011. Tiffin has stepped up to the plate and will repair these areas if they have problems although the time is running out on some of these repairs.

Is this a diesel unit? If it is, the owner should have all service records for you to review. The price, btw, seems high to me even if it is a diesel. If everything about the coach checks out, I would start my offers far lower - especially if it is gas engine model.
