Rates In Florida

What I am wanting to know if the state of Florida has a ceiling on the percentage a RV park can raise their rates per year?
Thanks for all comments

  • Rent controls on Mobile Home parks are pretty common. RV Parks do not fall under the same rules/controls. They charge what they can get. Go to Rapid City during Sturgis and check out the rates in all the surrounding communities for that month!! We had to show our SD DL to get the "locals" rates....Dennis

Better keep our sailboat, inexplicably much less expensive for a slip at a marina than a space at a Keys campground!

There's no property taxes on the water in your slip. And they don't have to pay anyone to mow the grass... :B
  • Campgrounds in the Keys raised their rates and are overflowing (waitlist only) due to two major campgrounds closing this year. Land prices apparently are more lucrative than a RV park, at least in the FL Keys! We checked out one "promising" location between Key West and Marathon this month ... minimal 24 feet (our Lance is 20.9') and $4,500/MONTH! YIKES! And I thought Boyd's was expensive at $3K/month. Better keep our sailboat, inexplicably much less expensive for a slip at a marina than a space at a Keys campground!
  • State parks are the same year round. Private parks raise their rates due to special events like concerts, season etc. No such laws govern private park rates.
  • The last thing we need is price control, on anything. If a CG raises the prices, find another CG.
