If you plan on wintering in IL. you want a well insulated rig. Newmar is one of the few that will actually give the R factor of insulation in the walls, floor and ceilings. We had a Pace Arrow, top Fleetwood gasser, and it was very cold in cold weather. We have dual pane glass in the Newmar and well insulated walls, ceilings and floor. All water tanks are completely enclosed and in the heated basement. We have had to go to Geneseo, IL many times since I got my DW from there and I went to college in Chicago area. Winter is not easy in any MH in that area. Looking for a DP with Aqua-Hot is a good suggestion. It will burn diesel for heat the coach and hot water.
You still didn't answer why only 34'. That gets small real quick and it is just as easy to drive 38-42' RVs.
Any you pay more for diesel and diesel additive fluid 2010 and newer.
You also paid a few hundred thousand more dollars than the original had in budget.
So where is the savings?
