SUCCESS!!! Thanks to all for the quick responses. Five or six squirts of WD-40 and a few cycles of the e-brake pedal and the light came on and the jacks worked!!!. My first post to this forum, but it will not be my last.
PS The switch is really not in a very accessible spot. Taking out the driver's seat helped.
