In my opinion and years of experience your manual is not entirely correct.I do as TIFFIN suggests and i belive that there correct
Slides out then level.(EG) a friend of mines gulfsteam had 2 slides binding.He did it your way and then tryed mine.NO binding after trying my(tiffin) way
