I installed a GearVendor Dbl Overdrive on my f350 6.0L and was about to increase my mpg about 15-20%....but it cost me over 3k for the dbl overdrive & it netted next to nothing around town....AND you CANT tow with it engaged.

what chip u running in your 6.0

6.0's are NOT chipped.

A set of 100 hp injectors for older cummins is roughly $300 after returning cores. Methanol injection is el cheapo. You use windshield washer fluid and small amounts.

Perhaps what motorhomes really need is chopped roofs and tapered tails.

i owned numerous older ford diesels beginning with the 6.9. They were fuel guzzlers. And lethargic compared to today's diesels. But u can help them some. Aftermarket exhaust helps them a bunch. They were very restricted. Opening the exhaust up helps all diesels perform better and it does a lot to lower egt's. Turbo kits on the older fords and open exhaust really brings them to life.

I've been a diesel mechanic at the local car dealer for quite a number of years. The majority on the industrial engine side. But a fair amount with trucks. You can get over the road trucks to make 20% more with some work. But your talking going from five to six. So going to the statement regarding physics. The same physics are in place with pickups and fifth wheels is it not?

I will preface this by saying I'm not a mechanic/gear-head/motor aficionado, but there is currently a test going on with a Prevost coach by the owner of said coach that is a very mechanical inclined intelligent person.

There is a process called 'fuel polishing' that will help our huge heavy coaches increase mileage (probably for an older engine). This fella is in the process now of testing the product but will do it over 1,000's of miles.

There is no way our type coaches will ever increase fuel mileage 25% or even 10%. It's called physics. This fuel polishing procedure may help, at best, about .5 a mile per gallon, maybe, we'll see after the test is complete.

And to increase mileage of these small percentages is a combination of things (like the OP said), not just one magic procedure.
