Refriderator replacement

Saw an ad for an Amish cooling system replacement for the Dometic units that uses a compressor and runs 12/120. Has anyone tried this? How does it work? Looks like a $600+ cost and likely not a DIY.

If you are looking for a replacement refrigerator, the best place to look is National RV Refrigeration

Leon is a young Amish man who works on any RV refrigerator and can fix some and replace others. He knows more about the gas absorption units than anyone. He is as honest as the day is long and will not take advantage of anyone. He will answer questions and sell parts if he has them.

You have to leave a message and he will call you back before the day is over.

+1 on Leon. Fixed my fridge in a few hours, great guy. Highly recommended.

  • We have a fairly large population of Amish locally. Just because they don't/won't own it doesn't mean they won't build and or use it.

I'd be interested in seeing what this new deal may be.
  • Amish does make a replacement cooling unit that uses a compressor for some models https://jc-refrigeration.com/products/

I doubt it would be Amish with a compressor! The Amish are known for building great absorption cooling units, as that is what they use in their homes.
  • i've heard of compressor replacements for LP fridge for the marine market etc..

never heard of them being called "Amish" , as the Amish don't use electricity in there homes
