Refridgerator

I just purchased a 2000 Holiday Rambler Endeavor and I can't seem to get the frig working. It says to make sure the LP is turned on before you power the AC power. I checked the outside frig compartment and there doesn't seem to be any power to the 120 outlet. I also turned on the LP at the tank but where you fill the LP there's a LP switch with a red indicator light beside it, should that red light be lit showing the LP is on? I also read the manual for 2 AC units and it says to turn on both AC units simultaneously push the mode and fan button to show both units on the controller it didn't work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  • The first thing I would suggest is to come back and read some of your threads after you have asked a question.
That would probably help the most. :)
  • The refrigerator will run on 120 volts and 12 volts, or it will run on 12 volts and LP gas. Be sure your coach (house) batteries are fully charged. Be sure you have LP gas flowing. Light all of the burners on the kitchen stove first to get the LP gas flowing closer to the refrigerator before trying the refrigerator on LP again.

Your red indicator for "lp on" may be telling you that you do not have 12 volts from your coach (house) batteries, it could be a fuse, or it could be the red indicator bulb burned out. I've replaced that bulb twice in 10 years.

Regarding your statement I also read the manual for 2 AC units and it says to turn on both AC units simultaneously push the mode and fan button to show both units on the controller it didn't work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regarding the 2 ac units. Does the face of your thermostat illuminate when you push the button(s)? If yes, you have 12 volts to the thermostat. If no, then find out why you don't have 12 volts to the thermostat.

Your front a/c is zone 1, and the rear a/c is zone 2. To switch between zones, depress the top two buttons on the 4 button thermostat at the same time and release. This should change the indicator on the thermostat from zone 1 to zone 2 (or the reverse if you were on zone 2). If this does not work, you may have dirty contacts on the push button switches. The link below is to a thread about cleaning and repairing the thermostat.

  • Are you on shore power, If not you need your generator running

Is your battery disconnect, in the store RV position, or use RV position..No it is not labeled that way, but MFG should do it that way

You need battery power for controls to work, and propane for the fridge unless you are connected to shore power
  • So all I have to do is turn the valve on the LP tank and turn the LP switch to the right and that should do it for the LP? There is a little black box in the outside frig compartment that has a red light constantly lit.

That is a fail safe box......part of a recall
RED light ON..it has tripped. When it trips it shuts off power for fridge.
Fridge will NOT turn ON with it tripped.

You should have a RV Tech check it out and see if it tripped due to a real problem (high temp) or if the box has failed.

Folks will post to reset it....but being that you are a n newbie best to have it inspected
  • I figured the box out and reset it by unplugging it but it continues to trip. When I first turned the water valve inside for the ice maker I didn't realize the waterline was also disconnected outside so my guess is that's what tripped it. I made sure I dried everything out but something is still setting it off. Thanks for all the advise.
  • Carl,
    Thank you for the update.
I hope someone can provide further help for you.
