- I would go PRi any day for less money and full warranty.

Yea , this would be more of a mod for the class b guys , I have a hightop Express van and i run a 8000 btu unit that works perfect on super hot days , you guys with class A's probably already have a generator solution. - Bigdog57Explorer

Looks like my local Camping World has the Powerhouse gensets.
I already have a couple gensets of other brands (a 2250W and a 5000W) but they are pull start types. I am in the process of rebuilding an E150 into a mini-RV and will likely use the smaller one for it. - Arizona_KidExplorerOr you can buy a PowerHouse with remote start. (75')

Power House Costco - mlts22Explorer IIEven though this is likely a pipe dream, I do wish Honda would get back into the built in genset market with an inverter model that has a battery "boost" so it can handle inrush current until the engine gets up to speed even on Eco-Throttle mode. The variable RPMs would save gasoline and cut down on noise, while an inverter would produce as clean a power output we will see this side of a Victron.
Heck, I'll just take an open-framed generator but running at 1800 RPM and four poles like Onan's earlier models. - Arizona_KidExplorerDouble your A/C BTU's to get about the watts you will need in a generator.
- jjraiExplorerI like the idea of the Honda, as opposed to my on-board Onan, which is noisy and uses a lot of propane. However, I have read that the Honida 2000 does not have enough power for most AC units, so check that out. If it does not have enough power it will not last.

It looks like they remove the integral fuel tank to make room for a starter, battery and controls so you will have to have an external fuel tank which kind of negates the small convenient size of the EU 2000i.
Actually it would take up no more space then it does now , it just wouldn't be portable anymore .
This wouldn't be a mod for someone that wanted to maintain the portability of the Honda but for some one that wanted a small and simple on board generator that could be turned on and off without even going outside and plus they would never have to fuel it.
My idea was to fuel the Honda from the vans fuel tank and power the starter with the vans starting battery , the electronics are very small and simple to wire , mounting the starter to the Honda would be the difficult part for me , I do have a friend that's good at working on small motors that could probably easily mount a starter on the Honda.
