remote start on onan 2800 generator

Hi All: Recently the remote start on my onan 2800 generator suddenly would not allow me to start the generator. The remote switch was working fine a week ago with nothing being done to it that would cause me to suspect I did anything. ie; drilled holes, jostled wiring etc. The generator will start from from the exterior generator control panel and it runs just fine. (seafoam solved the runnings issues last year). Once I start it from the generator start switch the light on the remote start is lite up. I can stop the generator from the remote start. I am at a lose to explain what has occured. I have looked at the obvious such as the 5 amp fuse (all good), wiring at back of remote control panel (all good, with nothing abvious noted. I tried jumping it via a wire but was unsure what wires to touch so I tried numerous combinations with none activating the generators starter. Any thhoughts or direction would be appreciated....
