Removing Dicor sealant

I recently took the rig in to have a leak in the driver's side windshield area. The repair facility said they fixed the windshield seal (which they did). However, in the process, some idiot decided to put white sealant behind the front cap on the rolled side of the roof, where it is very visible. If I had a white coach that would be okay. However he put about a 1/2 inch wide strip over my Gold paint.
As you can imagine, it looks terrible.

Now to my question : How can I remove the white sealant (which I believe is Dicor) without ruining the paint ?

    Plastic scraper

Should I apply heat as well ? Will it damage the paint ?
  • If you do it on a warm day, the Dicor will come up easily. Use a plastic scraper as recommended. Once you get the bulk of it up, use mineral spirits, Goof Off or any other cleaner. Once done, hit it with some wax.

I just removed about 8' around the perimeter of my skylight. I had it all up in about 20 minutes.
  • Or...depending on how much, where it is, and will removing it have an effect on the leak repair, you could get some touch up paint and paint the sealant. It usually takes paint well.
