Replace bed in 23' Thor Majestic for dinette
Because of the age of our kids and caring for my in-laws, I'm thinking of going with small class C to be used as a more comfortable means of transportation. We have essentially 7 adults (and maybe 1 or 2 extras in my niece/nephew) and we've taken some trips renting a 12 or 15 passenger van and sometimes even two vehicles. We first thought about upgrading our class A but we'd have to go with a huge 42' to (maybe) accommodate everyone. My idea is to pick up a 23' class C (leaning toward a Cruise America one) and replacing the rear bed with another booth. This would give us a max driving/seatbelt capacity of 11. It reduces sleeping capacity, but again with 7+ adults (I have 3 sons too) it's just not realistic to use an RV to house everyone. Basically, it'll be a large, comfortable van with a kitchen, bathroom, and plenty of storage.
The question I have is what's under the bed at the rear of the rig? My old class A had part of the water tank in that space. If it's similar, I would have to make a small, raised platform for the booth to sit on. No one is over 6' and I'm not that worried if it's a slight platform. I'm mainly trying to see if that whole space under the bed is used or not.
Thanks!
