Replace rear tail lights

I would love to change my rear tail lights to the bargman led ones! I see that they have the kind that plug into the existing light socket ( my lights are already bargmans)
Has anyone done the conversion to their RV? I'm only worried about the "hyper flash" syndrome before I do the conversion

  • I put the bargman led lights on my Winnegabo. I changed the flasher so it wouldn't hyper-flash.
  • Just did all the exterior lights on my MH, standard ford van for the front, round lens lights with standard plugs in the back. pretty painless, and since several of them needed to be replaced anyways. front turn/parking lights are white when in parking mode and flash yellow when turning. I did have issues with hyperflashing, but pretty simple fix. they make LED compatible flasher units. just pull the old one and replace it with new. 2 min job if you can get it to unplug easily. works like a charm. Still working on the clearance lights. Been raining for the last 6 months. Interior all done as well except the florescents.

Which Bargman lights do you have? EasternMarine.com has a lot of LED lights. I chose to completely replace my incandescent Bargman assemblies with all new LED ones. Well, Backup Light is still incandescent. Anyhow, these hardwire to the coach's wiring, where the original lights wired in. I wanted that, because a lot of my trouble was with the sockets.

They DID HyperFlash. I had planned to add LED "lollipop" lights on my mirrors. Amber front, Red Rear on a Pedestal. I saved $$$ by buying incandescent instead, and that brought the lights back to normal blinking speed.

Eastern has a sale ending today. I don't know if lights were on it.

Looks like I answered my own comments referring to the HYPER-FLASH syndrome... My bad hehe... First time I have ever heard that term... Had me worried if my Health Insurance covered that...

In my case i have to watch all of these LED lights especially the ones that have built-in REGULATOR CHIPS... They all seem to interfere with my HDTV when using it in OTA mode and my HAM RADIO and WX RADIO units...

I tend to not add ones that I don't really need. All of the DOT SAFETY LIGHTS are all powered by my truck start battery system and I don't need to install LED Lights here on the trailer side with the saving of trailer battery power in mind when camping off-grid.

I have to admit however some of those LED DOT SAFETY lights sure look nice... I would probably worry about the LED lights not drawing enough DC current to FLASH at a proper rate when being used for turn signals etc...

I am not aware of the term HYPER-FLASH syndrome... Must not be something old school folks should worry about I guess hehe... Something else to read up on here I reckon to see if I have that illness or not...

  • I did the conversion on my TT and they look great. Depending on the year of your C, If you end up with the hyper flash scenario you can probably just replace the flasher with an electronic HD part.
