Replacing ABS Sensor on W24 Chassis

We had the ABS light come on and off while on our maiden voyage of our new (to us) 2006 Fleetwood Pace Arrow. The dealer ordered a new sensor but it may not arrive before we leave for our next scheduled trip so they said they could send it to me if I wanted. How hard is it to get to and change?

  • That link that you posted is the link I used to solve my ABS sensor problem. I got by with just removing each sensor and cleaning them and the cage and reinstalling them. Note on the link, you have to scroll down to find the ABS topic. Read it all
  • It basically requires no tools unless the old one is so tight in it's mounting hole that you need pliers to remove it. There is one electrical connection that is located at the end of a two foot pigtail. The new sensor is pushed all of the way in to the hole, the electrical connection made, and that is it.
Before you install the new sensor, check it with an ohmmeter and you will now have the resistance of a good sensor. If the problem pops up again in the future, you can easily find the defective sensor with an ohmmeter.
  • If You have reasonable Mechanical skills not difficult at all. They attach on the Back side of the Brake backing plate?
