Replacing Curtains with Blinds

We are considering replacing the curtains in our 1999 American Cruiser with blinds. I have done *a little* research and am wondering if anyone on the forum has actually done it before. If so, did you do "inside mount" or "outside mount"?

Thanks!
  • Very well. The friction holds them in place when in up position The van is a 96 with the original blinds.
  • We looked at an American Cruiser before buying our Coachmen Sarratoga.Wife thought it was too Claustraphopic. I tried to explain that it was only the window treatments causing that feeling but she wouldn't hear about it.I went and bought the Coachmen with same size windows and she loves it.The difference was the window treatments. In particular was the clever way Coachmen flipped the blinds upside down. This results in no fabric in the way of your view when blinds are open.Simple.Love the fabric blinds.
  • Did you use metal blinds? If so, did you have rattle problems? Our old Airstream Interstate had them in the galley area. They looked great, but were very noisy while underway. We ended up hating them.
  • I changed out day/night shade by dinette to mini blinds. I was very pleased with the change and appearance. Did inside mount.
