Replacing slide valve gaskets
We have to replace the 'o' rings on our black water valve slide;can we use Vaseline on the new gaskets for lubrication as opposed to a commercial product?

Incidently, these seals are in fact not o-rings, but rather special seals made for that valve.

When the seal isn't a "O" ring then I'd go with the manufacturers recommended lube.
