- MountainAir05Explorer IIOn mined I had to run threw the ceiling on one and the other threw the duct. As stated, drop the lights, speakers and you can see enough to pull the cable. You do not have to take the wires loose on the lights and speakers, If in the duct just pull from the front to the rear and then reseal the ducts where they come out on each end. As Doug stated they are wired straight and here is a manual if you don't have one. If you know someone who pull wire, see if you can use there pole and it want take but a few minutes to get the wire threw, If not just tye them together and gentle pull. You will need a crimp tool to put the ends on. You must disconnect from the roof of each AC unit.
Remove the one on the rear first and pull to the front, might help with two people.

- jannlanzExplorerYes I have cleaned both ends and still no Zone 2. Thank you for your advice :) If the cord is not ran through the duct, do you know what will be involved? Thanks.
- You use 4 wire telephone cable, but you reverse the end modular connections. They are NOT wired like standard telephone cable. The BEST way is to run thru the ductwork as the cable connections will be connected at the control boards on each AC. The rear AC cable goes to the Front unit and then the tstat wall cable goes to the front unit. Hopefully, the only bad cable is the one between the rear and front AC, whic will make it easier to run. - MountainAir05Explorer IIcheck and see if they ran the cord inside the duct. Just tie a pull cord since you said that it might be damage, Do not put too much pressure when pulling. Have you tried to check by testing the cable or cleaning the ends or replacing the ends first.
- tkcas01ExplorerI've never done this, but I see a couple of options. If they are ducted, you might be able to run new wiring through the ducts. Another approach might be to remove ceiling light fixtures and/or speakers. This should give you access to any dead space between your roof and ceiling. You could then use a snake wire or other improvised tool to route the wires using the openings as access points. Depending on how things are configured it might not be too bad.
