roof clearance lights

I'm trying to change out my clearance light on the roof of my 96 allegro bay. It is leaking & when I checked it the base is busted so no quick fix. It needs to be replaced. The only problem is that it seems to screw in from the bottom? There is a thick washer & then a small washer that seems to hold the screw in? Ant clue on how to get these lights off? Or do I have to take apart my ceiling inside the rv to get them off? Thanks
  • Tiffin does not rivet clearance lights in the cap or sides. IF it is riveted, someone else did that in the past 20 years. The use standard wood screws, not machine screw and nuts. Doug
  • Sounds like they may be pop riveted in. If so you would need to drill out the pop rivets. You may be able to use JB Weld or other epoxy product to fill in the crack...touch up with paint. Be careful when tightening the screws that hold down the lens. It's common to over-tighten and crack the lens which will leak as well.
