Roof damage

Hi all,
My 95 bounder went through the Los Cabos hurricane and blew out most of my windows as well as all the vents , covers and ac shrouds. My concern is that the roof now is down to the wood. Looks like some kind of plywood. Where do I start. Was there two coats of sealer to begin with? All that is left is flaky black pieces along tHe sides. I assume that was a rubber coating and the some kind of white sealer was on top. I want to fix it with materials i can find in mexico if i can. Could i usr several coats of roofing sealer that is common here for flat roofs? Or anyone have any ideas. Thank in advance...
Randy

  • Check youtube as well cause there are lots of videos about replacing-repairing roofs on RVs
  • If not insured, the old plywood should come off. If you elect to use the old plywood you will still need to cover with luan. Apply dicor glue or comparable to the luan then gradualy lay down the new EPDM roof material. If you check dicor's web site there will be a lot od good advice.
  • If your bounder is anything like mine it probably had a rubber roof.I replaced mine last year .I did mine myself and any person that is handy with with basic hand tools can replace a rubber roof.
As was mentioned ,get it under a shelter or at least cover it with a good tarp to minimize any farther damage.
Overall I had just under $1000 in my new roof covering. If you want to talk personally P.M me and I will give you my number and be better able to described the process.

Where do you start 1-800-claims department of course (not a real phone number but,Well you get the idea)

Then I think you should either move it to covered storage or tarp it, cause the insurance will like to look at it before repairs start.
