I just cleaned my roof with a soft detergent. Looked for any loose sealant around vents etc. and removed. Used EtrnaBond for the front and end cap seam. Dicore around to reseal the vents etc. Then used a good rubber roof coating I got from Home Depot. to repaint roof. Never had a problem,
